I’m Luminita Cordes, and I’m proud to share my journey with you. I was born and raised in the captivating Transylvania region of Romania, a place steeped in both history and innovation. Growing up under Ceausescu’s regime taught me the value of resilience and hard work, lessons that continue to shape my approach to life and business.
After earning my economics degree from Lucian Blaga University in 1999, I embarked on a life-changing adventure to the United States, arriving just two weeks before the tragic events of 9/11. Despite the initial shock, I remained steadfast in my pursuit of education, eventually earning an MBA from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2007. What makes this achievement even more special is that I managed to do it without incurring any student debt, working tirelessly to fund my studies while juggling full-time employment.
Before delving into real estate, I spent a decade in print media and advertising in Romania, followed by another four years in the United States. However, it was my move to San Antonio, where I found love, started a family, and discovered my true passion for real estate.
The decision to become a real estate agent was deeply personal to me. In Romania, homeownership was a dream deferred for many, including my own family, due to the socialist regime’s control over all private property. It wasn’t until after the 1989 revolution that individuals regained the right to own property, inspiring me to become an advocate for homeownership rights and opportunities.
Now, as a proud member of Independent Realty, I am committed to helping others achieve their dreams of homeownership while providing exceptional service and guidance every step of the way. My fastest sale to date was almost $600k, completed in just 29 days from initial search to closing. But beyond the numbers, what truly drives me is the opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives by helping them find their perfect home or investment property.
